Our Story

Opened in 1982, Acropolis has been a part of my life since I can remember. It is more than just a Greek restaurant to me, it is my life and what makes me most proud. I share Executive Chef responsibilities with my beautiful mother Effe who is seen cooking Acropolis favorites like Roasted Lamb Shank, Pastistio and Mousaka. She also makes most of our delicious appetizers (mezes) which I urge you all to get as starters to your next experience at Acropolis OPA.

In 1982 Effie and John Tsouflidis bought the Captains Table from a Greek guy named Jerry. From then on Effe developed recipes and built Acropolis into a traditional Greek diner in the Elmwood Village. This Wednesday, their son Paul and our current owner will make Acropolis a diner again.
