Our Story

Opened in 1982, Acropolis has been a part of my life since I can remember. It is more than just a Greek restaurant to me, it is my life and what makes me most proud. I share Executive Chef responsibilities with my beautiful mother Effe who is seen cooking Acropolis favorites like Roasted Lamb Shank, Pastistio and Mousaka. She also makes most of our delicious appetizers (mezes) which I urge you all to get as starters to your next experience at Acropolis OPA.

Calamari isn’t the same around the upper city. The squid first marinates in buttermilk, then it’s powdered with flour and lightly fried. Once perfectly fried, it’s smothered with feta, banana peppers, kalamata olives and halved grape tomatoes. We offer a fresh lemon wedge to squeeze some citrus onto it and also warm red sauce for dipping before you take each bite. Plus you get to taste some of the best pita bread around as well. We know there’s lots of calamari options in our beautiful city, but let’s face it there’s only one that screams OPA! As for the “upper city” aka Acropolis, we are open every day and every night.
